Loan and Grant Support Expansion Into Sully Business Park

After researching several location options in the Jasper County region, Janco Industries of Sully, made the decision to locate its new 70,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Sully’s new business park. The city knew the decision would mean infrastructure improvements and turned to its telecommunications provider, Sully Telephone Association, and Ripple Effect for assistance.

Ripple Effect wrote and submitted a successful RISE (Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy) grant application to help the city construct a new street and water infrastructure to support the new Janco building and its metal fabrication and contract manufacturing business. Sully Telephone and Ripple Effect also secured a 10-year $272,000, interest-free pass-through loan through the USDA Rural Economic Development Loan & Grant (REDL&G) program for the city.

The $466,650 infrastructure project includes a new water main to the site, street improvements to 1st Avenue and West 2nd Avenue, and a new truck-turning intersection at the intersection of 1st Street and 1st Avenue; supporting Janco and other business park tenants.
