City of Belmond Receives Ripple Effect Grant For Rental Housing Planning and Engineering

Communications 1 Network, Inc. (Comm 1) is the recipient of a $2,500 Ripple Effect planning grant for the pre-development costs and planning assistance for new rental housing in Belmond. The city will use the grant proceeds to help defray the cost of the planning and engineering services required for the development. The application was made to Aureon by Communications 1 Network, Inc., a full-service telecommunications provider on behalf of the City of Belmond. Comm 1 will match the Aureon grant to make a total of $5,000 available for the study, which is estimated to cost $5,000.

“The Ripple Effect grant in addition to our matching grant will allow the city to move forward with the housing development planning. Available housing is limited so it’s a win-win for the current residents of Belmond and for the future of the city,” says Randy Yeakel, General Manager of Comm1.

“The City of Belmond is extremely appreciative of the Ripple Effect grant and our relationship with Randy Yeakel, President/CEO with Communication 1 Network, Inc.  The proceeds from said grant, and matching funds from Comm 1, will allow the City to proceed with the development feasibility study for a three city block development project.  We hope this is the first step leading to other partners investing in a multi-family housing development in Belmond” says Darrel Steven Carlyle, City Manager.
